Structural changes are now at the center of a student mobilization in Créteil, after complaints about missing teachers and inadequate resources, sociologist Gökçe Tuncel told France 24.

France 24 reported that students first protested at a high school in Créteil over missing teachers and inadequate resources. The outlet described the ensuing mobilization as a challenge to inequality in French public education.

France 24 identified Tuncel as a sociologist and post-doctoral researcher associated with Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) and EHESS, which is based in Paris. “Their demands are structural changes,” Tuncel said.
