Students called for demonstrations on Oct. 31 after talks with Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu, describing the meeting as progress, France 24 reported Monday.

Agence France-Presse reported that the campaign has lasted more than a month and focused on school conditions and changes to education policy. The agency also said students are urging the government to carry through on promised reforms, as described in EconoTimes' earlier preview of the meeting.

France 24 said students called for the demonstrations to press the government to take further measures. The next action they named is Saturday, Oct. 31.
