There is a little bit of a bad news and an exciting news for the “Criminal Minds” season 14 mid-season finale. The bad news, there will be a couple of weeks break after episode 10. On the other hand, the Behavioral Analysis Unit will have to revisit a very old case with the rise of a new serial killer.
“Criminal Minds” season 14 episode 10 is titled “Flesh and Blood” which already hints at another gory case for the BAU. The brief preview shows Prentiss (Paget Brewster) telling JJ (A.J. Cook) that their unsub is “luring women” to catch its victims.
In one scene, a victim is seen being hanged in what looks like a basement. Then the team reviews a security footage where a victim is seen entering a car along with a beautiful woman, which leads to Prentiss’ theory. Meanwhile, the “Criminal Minds” season 14 episode 10 synopsis reveals that the unsub’s signature is removing the hearts of its victims before dumping their bodies.
If these details sound familiar to avid fans of the show, that is because the same signature was used by a serial killer the BAU nabbed in season 3. The tricky part would be the major change in victimology. And the fact that the unsub is using various women as bait might not exactly make him a copycat. The “Criminal Minds” season 14 episode 10 unsub is also targeting businessmen. There is also a likely surprising twist that might affect Prentiss the most among other agents in the team.
Meanwhile, “Criminal Minds” season 14 episode 10 is going to be the last episode for 2018. It will air on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. The show then goes on a holiday break and will return with a new episode on Jan. 2, 2019.
