Growth of Czech retail sales slowed in June following a sharp rise in the prior month. According to Czech Statistic Office, seasonally adjusted retail sales, excluding automobile trade, grew 6.2 percent year-on-year, as compared with May’s growth of 7.5 percent.
On a sequential basis, retail sales rose 1.5 percent in June. Non-adjusted sales for automotive fuel and non-food goods rose at the same pace of 7.2 percent on annual basis, while for food it grew 4.6 percent.
For the second quarter of 2016, retail trade sales, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles, rose 5.3 percent on an annual basis. Meanwhile, non-adjusted sales of automotive fuel rose 9.1 percent year-on-year, whereas for non-foods goods and for food it rose 7.5 percent and 3.4 percent respectively.
Sale and repair of motor vehicles on a seasonally adjusted basis grew 9.4 percent year-on-year, whereas on non-adjusted basis it rose 13.4 percent. Non-adjusted sales of motor vehicles, including spare parts, grew 14.5 percent on year-on-year basis, while for repair of motor vehicles it grew 9.1 percent, stated Czech Statistic Office.
