The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has introduced a service for tokenized securities, aiming to reduce friction in collateral movement and bring digital-asset tools into institutional workflows.

DTCC handles securities clearing and settlement, two functions at the heart of U.S. market infrastructure. BitGo is working alongside DTCC on the service’s underlying systems.

Earlier plans placed selected shares from the Russell 1000, exchange-traded funds tracking major indexes and U.S. Treasury securities under The Depository Trust Company’s (DTC) authorization. Participant demand was expected to influence which assets became available first.

The development follows a July production event involving tokenized DTC-held assets. The event was followed by participant transactions in tokenized equities and U.S. Treasury securities, among them repurchase agreements tied to Treasurys.

A separate plan calls for assets held at DTC to become accessible on Stellar in the first half of 2027.
