The latest season of “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon?” anime adaptation has ended. With that, the wait for “DanMachi” season 4 has officially started. However, fans might not see new episodes arrive until late 2021.
‘DanMachi’ season 4 possible release date window
Production of “DanMachi” season 4 has not been announced yet. The availability of light novel source materials and the continuing popularity of the series suggest the anime adaptation has a better chance of getting renewed. What has been confirmed at this point is the making of a new OVA.
The release of a new OVA, titled “Gods of the Bath Forever,” was announced immediately after the season 2 finale. This follows a pattern of the anime adaptation to get a new OVA while fans wait for new canon episodes. This also adds to the likelihood that fans are getting “DanMachi” season 4 sometime in the future.
The 15-second teaser for “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon? - Gods of the Bath Forever” does not reveal much, except for Ais and Hestia in a hot spring. It also confirms that the OVA will be released on April 28, 2020. If the previous season and OVA release dates are any indications, that means the earliest possible premiere window for “DanMachi” season 4 is in late 2021. But considering that promise about a new installment has yet to be made, fans should not rule out the possibility for the hiatus to continue through 2022.
What happened in the ‘DanMachi’ season 3 finale
The last episode of season 3 was bittersweet for Bell. Hermes concocted a plan to revive his reputation, but it also meant putting Gros and other Xenos monsters against Bell. Luckily, the adventurer found a real opponent when the newly reincarnated Asterius appeared allowing Bell to engage in a real rematch.
However, Asterius dominated their fight leading Bell to realize he needs to train once more. Despite their previous combat, Ais met with Bell and agreed to train him again without promising when that will begin. “DanMachi” season 4 should pick up shortly after these events with Hestia celebrating as she updates Bell’s status. But fans should also expect that the Xenos will still be a major part of the upcoming story arcs.
