Dangote Cement shares rose 10% on Oct. 26, bringing the company’s implied market capitalization to about N20.62 trillion based on its share price and outstanding shares.

The company’s investor-relations page listed its share price at N1,222.10 for Oct. 26. NGX lists a prior close of N1,111 on Oct. 23, making the increase to the listed price 10%.

NGX reports 16,873,559,251 Dangote Cement shares outstanding. Multiplying that figure by N1,222.10 gives an implied market capitalization of about N20.62 trillion.

In an Oct. 26 snapshot, Forbes’ real-time billionaire tracker estimated Aliko Dangote’s net worth at $53.2 billion, up $1.2 billion, or 2.32%, from the previous trading day. Forbes says Dangote owns 85% of the publicly traded cement company through a holding company.

Forbes says it updates estimates tied to public holdings every five minutes while the relevant stock markets are open, using prices delayed by 15 minutes. The $53.2 billion figure cited here is the tracker’s Oct. 26 snapshot.

For the six months ended June 30, 2026, Dangote Cement recorded revenue of N2.5139 trillion and profit after tax of N638.5 billion. Those figures were up 21.4% and 22.7%, respectively, from a year earlier.

Separately, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE is offering 4.1 billion shares at N525 each. The company said Securities and Exchange Commission approval extended the application period from Oct. 13 to Oct. 27, giving investors more time to complete account opening, identity verification and regulatory requirements.

David Bird, the refinery company’s managing director and chief executive officer, said, “We welcome the SEC’s approval of the extension, which will give more investors across Africa the opportunity to participate in the Offer.” The company’s indicative timetable lists returns collation for Nov. 3 and a planned SEC no-objection to the allotment basis on Nov. 17. It says those dates may change.
