Diebold Nixdorf and Euronet Worldwide say a proposed global ATM services arrangement could help banks lower operating costs by combining cash recycling equipment, field support and payment processing.

The companies announced a nonbinding letter of intent Monday, Oct. 26. Under the outline, Diebold Nixdorf would bring cash recycling ATMs, banking software and field-service capacity, while Euronet would contribute its Ren processing platform and ATM operating capabilities. The letter describes a possible collaboration but does not commit either company to a launch.

The companies say the service mix could give financial institutions centralized ATM oversight, coordinated service delivery and ongoing security work. They cite banks’ efforts to improve the efficiency, security and availability of physical networks, and say the proposed services could reduce cash-replenishment needs and support more ATM transactions. These are projected benefits, not results from an operating program.

Euronet’s 2025 Form 10-K says its ATM business depends on hardware, software and specialized personnel, and identifies outsourced ATM management as a growth opportunity. The filing reports 56,818 ATMs in Euronet’s network as of Dec. 31, 2025. It also says the company’s EFT Processing Segment represented about 30% of consolidated revenue that year.

The filing lists recurring monthly management fees, transaction fees, surcharges and margins on dynamic currency conversion (DCC) transactions among Euronet’s ATM network revenue sources. It does not explain how costs or revenue would be divided under the proposed arrangement, whose financial terms have not been disclosed.

Diebold Nixdorf President and CEO Octavio Marquez said “the opportunity goes beyond cost reduction.” Euronet Chairman and CEO Michael J. Brown described ATM outsourcing as “at the heart of Euronet’s business” for more than 30 years.

The companies named no participating banks and gave no rollout markets, covered ATM count, deal value or launch timetable. The next step is negotiating and signing definitive agreements; no deadline was announced.
