“Disenchantment” season 2 is slated to premiere soon, and many fans are certainly most excited to learn more about Elfo. The candy-loving elf tragically died in the latter episodes of season 1, and everyone thought that was it for him. However, he was actually the last character to appear in a post-credit cliffhanger.
‘Disenchantment’ season 2 plot, spoilers: Elfo is likely alive
First, the fact that the writers and producers chose a cliffhanger solely revolving around Elfo’s status opens many possibilities in “Disenchantment” season 2. That includes the chance of seeing him resurrected by the ones who fetched his dead body out of the water. It would be absurd to leave the fans with the image of Elfo being saved in season 1 if there is nothing in store for him in the upcoming episodes.
Elfo is one of the most mysterious characters in the show, so there is plenty of information about his identity that could be a running storyline for “Disenchantment” season 2. Additionally, the many online forums dedicated to Elfo show that fans are interested in knowing what happens next for the elf.
One of the highly-theorized aspects of Elfo’s identity is his mother. He is an elf, but his mother can be a descendant of another supernatural being. Some fans suggest that his mother could be a mermaid, especially after the mentioned season 1 cliffhanger. The faces of the people who got Elfo out of the water were hidden, but at the lower right of the screen, it can be seen that half of their body is covered in scales just like in mermaid.
‘Disenchantment’ season 2 release date, future installments
Technically, season 1 was ordered with a total of 20 episodes. But the first 10 episodes were released as part 1 while the remaining installments will be released on Sept. 20 — this is not commonly referred to as “Disenchantment” season 2.
Meanwhile, the actual second season of the show was confirmed in the fall of 2018. Like the first installment, it will also have a total of 20 episodes but will be released in two parts with around a year in between them. Since “Disenchantment” season 2 is coming out this year, the next two-part premieres will take place in 2020 and 2021.
