The longest government shutdown in the history of the United States continues and so is U.S. President Donald Trump’s online rants about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democratic lawmakers. The POTUS recently warned Pelosi to “be careful” while also calling the streets of San Francisco “disgusting.”
The current partial government shutdown started last Dec. 22. Apparently, there is no end in sight anytime soon following the fallout of the latest supposed compromised deal between Trump and the Democrats. Trump would reportedly not back down on the $5.7 billion funding for building a new wall structure along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Trump addressed the country on Jan. 19 to announce his latest proposal including the three-year extension of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, among other immigration offers, in exchanging of the wall funding. “Nancy Pelosi and some of the Democrats turned down my offer yesterday before I even got up to speak,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
Democrats were hopeful that @realDonaldTrump was finally willing to re-open government & proceed with a much-needed discussion to protect the border. Unfortunately, reports make clear that his proposal is a compilation of previously rejected initiatives. https://t.co/MFwebWSevG pic.twitter.com/yMTm4iP27h

Pelosi did issue a statement on Saturday explaining why the Democrats are rejecting Trump's offers. She then called Trump’s proposal “a compilation of several previously rejected initiatives, each of which is unacceptable and in total do not represent a good faith effort to restore certainty to people’s lives."
Nancy Pelosi has behaved so irrationally & has gone so far to the left that she has now officially become a Radical Democrat. She is so petrified of the “lefties” in her party that she has lost control...And by the way, clean up the streets in San Francisco, they are disgusting!

Meanwhile, Trump’s offer — though it did not pan out — worried some of his supporters as they saw it as a form of amnesty for the DACA and Temporary Protected Status recipients. In the same Twitter tirade, Trump clarified that he is not offering amnesty but added, “Likewise there will be no big push to remove the 11,000,000 plus people who are here illegally." He then warned Pelosi to "be careful" possibly hinting at targeting immigration policies in his future proposals.

In a follow-up tweet, Trump said Pelosi has been behaving “irrationally” and labeled her a “Radical Democrat.” Though the President did not mention other names, he accused the House Speaker of being intimidated with “the ‘lefties’ in her party.” He then ended his Pelosi-focused Tweetstorm by advising her to “clean up the streets in San Francisco” for being “disgusting.” Pelosi is an elected Democratic Congress representative for California's 12th district covering the city of San Francisco.
