Election Day is here, and as expected, Donald Trump claimed yet again that there was voter fraud. The self-proclaimed billionaire has already cast his vote and is now just waiting for the results. Getting an idea of how things are going for him shouldn’t be too hard either, since Google is so graciously providing a heat map of voting patterns in real-time.
USA Today cited the Republican nominee’s interview with Fox & Friends and another interview with the network later today, where he raised concerns that there could be voter fraud happening on Election Day. According to Trump, he’s been receiving reports that it is happening all over the country right now.
Early polls already indicated that Hillary Clinton had a slight edge over Trump, which the latter dismissed as results of a “phony” system. He also still refused to commit to a decision as to whether or not he will concede should he lose the election.
"Let me tell you, if I don't win I will consider it a tremendous waste of time, energy and money," Trump told Fox & Friends.
Fortunately for Trump, he could always get a feel for how the election is going for him by using the Google hotspot map on how Americans are voting. The map is displaying information including “Long Wait Times” and reports of “Voter Intimidation” where voters are either being threatened not to vote or to vote for a particular candidate.
According to Wired, the feature is a result of Google’s partnership with Pitch Interactive and uses real-time data gathered from search results indexed by Google Trend. The issues being tracked by the heat map are the five most relevant that were brought up by the users themselves. The map is fed data, which includes search keywords that users are typing. The bigger the blip, the more serious the issue in a given locality.
