With the “Doom Eternal” release date less than a month away, interest in the upcoming title is on the rise. To whet fans’ appetite even further, Bethesda just released a new trailer showing just what the game is all about.
New ‘Doom Eternal’ trailer
“Experience the ultimate combination of speed and power as you rip-and-tear through Hell’s armies to save humanity. DOOM Eternal launches on 03.20.20.,” Bethesda captioned the trailer which was posted on its official Twitter account.
The new trailer showcases a few weapons that players will be able to use in the game. Aside from various guns, the Doom Slayer is seen wielding the powerful-looking Crucible Blade.
Where ‘Doom Eternal’ is set
While the previous game was set on Mars, “Doom Eternal” will not be set on Earth. Previously, UAC scientists experimented with the idea of siphoning energy from another dimension called hell but their experiment did not go exactly as planned.
Luckily, their experiments were conducted on Mars so Earth was safe in the previous game. However, it’s highly likely that UAC scientist Samuel Hayden will open a portal to Hell once more but this time he’ll do it on Earth resulting in the planet being overrun by various demonic creatures from the other dimension in “Doom Eternal,” according to Game Rant.
Hayden will be back as he was seen in another previously released “Doom Eternal” trailer. However, he appeared damaged and being repaired by scientists. There is also a chance that he’ll become the antagonist in the upcoming game.
More demons to kill
While players had tons of fun slaying the numerous demons in the previous game, the action will definitely be more intense in “Doom Eternal” as there will be double the number of demons to kill, according to Comic Book. Players will see the return of some demons found in the previous game such as Hellified Soldiers, Arachnotron, and Archvile.
However, there will be new demons arriving as well. One such demon is called Whiplash, where players need to be constantly on the move to evade her devastating attacks. Another new demon is called The Tentacle where giant tentacles come out of the floor causing damage to the player.
More realistic damage
“Doom Eternal” will also feature a more realistic damage mechanics to the demons. For instance, players can target specific body parts of the demon and the injuries will affect how the demon will attack.
“Demon Eternal” will be released on March 20, 2020. The title will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC.
