JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Jan. 11, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Drone Aviation Holding Corp. (OTCQX: DRNE) ("DAC" or "Drone Aviation"), a manufacturer of tethered drones and lighter-than-air aerostats today announced that it has formed a joint sales partnership with Skyfire Consulting ("Skyfire"), a leading drone services and consulting company dedicated to serving the needs of first responders nationwide, and have begun co-marketing DAC's tethered drones to fire and police departments and other emergency services entities.
As part of the sales partnership with DAC, both companies will present the WATT line of tethered drones to attendees, including first responders, firefighters and hazmat specialists at the annual Fire-Rescue East 2016 Conference held in Daytona Beach, Florida on January 20th to January 23rd. The WATT tethered platform is designed to provide long endurance and persistent aerial coverage and is ideally suited to monitor live fire scenes for search and rescue missions or to safely monitor fire-prone areas without interfering with supporting helicopters.
"We believe the WATT family of tethered drones can meet the very demanding requirements of first responders for a reliable and cost-effective long duration aerial monitoring solution and are delighted to partner with Skyfire, an organization dedicated to using drones to help first responders save lives," said Jay Nussbaum, Chairman of Drone Aviation. "Together with the experts at Skyfire, we are educating and enabling first responders on how Federal, State and Commercial grant programs can help them incorporate our innovative tethered drones into fire departments nationwide."
Matt Sloane, CEO of Skyfire Consulting, added, "Skyfire is dedicated to providing first responders with the safest and most advanced drone technology available, and having seen the unique capabilities of the WATT system firsthand, we believe that it will have a significantly positive impact on first responder operations. We are excited to bring this unique tethered drone solution to potential customers and to present the WATT at the Fire-Rescue East event later this month."
DAC's WATT platform is engineered and manufactured to operate in urban environments and provide live day and night aerial video. The unique, high-strength armored tether connects the aerial vehicle to a ground power source for long flight durations and acts as a leash for additional safety. Unlike hobbyist consumer and "prosumer" drones, the WATT delivers military grade, highly-stabilized HD video, even in adverse weather conditions. The robust and easy to operate design of WATT's hardware and software systems are based on years of experience gained from delivering tethered aerostat systems to various U.S. Government and Army customers. The WATT series of systems are intended for a wide range of applications including newsgathering, emergency first responder/search and rescue, military and border protection.
