Anadolu Agency reported that drone strikes hit two power stations in eastern Sudan and triggered a widespread electricity outage, disrupting supply across a broad area.

In earlier reporting, Anadolu described attacks on 12 power stations across six states. EconoTimes covered that earlier account of attacks on Sudan's power stations.

Fighting between Sudan's army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) began in April 2023, when disagreements over integrating the paramilitary group into the military escalated into conflict.
