Notable guests at Saturday’s performance were city officials, a professional comedian and magician, a retired senior judge from Russia, and a newspaper marketing executive from St. Petersburg.
The pair performed 16 songs from well-known Broadway plays such as The King and I, Beauty and the Beast, Cats, Phantom of the Opera and more, receiving several standing ovations and an encore at the performance close.
One guest asked if they actually performed on Broadway as they were so good. Several were moved to tears, including a guest whose late father’s favorite song was, “Time to Say Goodbye” which was their final song.
“Thank you for the beautiful evening! It was truly enjoyable. I think you have established a real cultural center for the community with such events,” said one guest.
The next concert at the Center will take place on the 23rd of October from 6-8pm with Ms. Susanne Epple, soprano opera singer. She will perform opera songs in 4 languages for “An International Evening of Opera” in honor of a precept from the non-religious moral code by L. Ron Hubbard - The Way to Happiness, ‘Set a good example’. Light complimentary refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
