Eurostat’s flash estimate showed monthly inflation easing to 0.4%, while its measure excluding energy, food, alcohol and tobacco remained at 2.5% annually.
The measure averages 2.8% for the first three quarters, but employee coverage falls to 23.3% in the third quarter; the ECB says the forward reading is not a forecast.
FXStreet placed EUR/USD below its 100-day simple moving average near 1.1420. The ECB held rates in October, while Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel said a December increase was likely necessary in his view.
