- The euro was off to a choppy start to the week, though it followed up its best week against the greenback in years with another gain. Although the euro benefited from a shift on the U.S. side of the equation, worries about Greece's future in the euro zone, alongside the bloc's still shaky economic prospects, risk undercutting any rise in the euro.
- On the euro economic front this week, a batch of PMI surveys come due Tuesday followed by Wednesday's release of Germany's Ifo index of business optimism.
- Forecasts call for the bloc's recovery to show more signs of improvement which if realized could see the euro add to its gains. For the U.S. importer, that could potentially mean paying prices above $1.10.
