Eat Just has collaborated with Asian grocery delivery platform Foodpanda to provide the world’s first home delivery of cultured meat.
The Foodpanda app will feature three dishes containing cultured chicken prepared by Singapore’s 1880, the first restaurant which served Eat Just’s cultured meat, for a limited time in Singapore from 22 April.
The dishes are katsu chicken curry, chicken and rice, and chicken Caesar salad.
The orders will be packed in eco-friendly boxes made from bamboo fib rand resin and to be delivered by Foodpanda using e-bikes.
Singapore is the first country to approve the sale of cultured meat.
Eat Just and Foodpanda plan to involve additional restaurants in Singapore to offer cultured meat for delivery in the coming months.
Jakob Angele, CEO of Foodpanda APAC, noted that Singapore customers can be the world’s first diners to enjoy cultured meat dishes from the comforts of their home.
He added that Foodpanda and Eat Just hope to bring cultured meat delivery to more markets, not just in Asia, but in every country where Delivery Hero brands operate.
