Fans only have to wait a week to get their hands on "Elden Ring." But that also means they should expect and be wary of more spoilers appearing online.
Over the last 24 hours, "Elden Ring" leaks have appeared on Reddit showing different sorts of information about the upcoming game. One post claims to have a list of achievements that players can collect in the game.
Not surprisingly, the top trophies refer to defeating Queen Marika's demigod children who have each obtained a shard of the Elden Ring at the start of the game's plot. The leaked achievements also give fans more idea on how many boss fights are likely available in the RPG.
Others were bolder in leaking "Elden Ring" going as far as streaming live gameplay on PS5 on Twitch. But it did not take long before those channels received copyright takedowns.
One of the most interesting leaks so far is the supposed intro of "Elden Ring," which has also been shared in the same subreddit. Fans who have seen it quickly noticed that FromSoftware used the same approach for the opening narration that was used for "Dark Souls" games. That means there is no cinematic CGI, but there is storytelling with a dramatic voiceover and different frames showing impressive graphic artworks.
Some fans also took note of NPC appearances in the leaked "Elden Ring" intro, especially Fia, whose role in the game is described as a deathbed companion. The appearance of the character has been noted by early reviewers, with Den of Geek saying that she seems to be one of the results of George R.R. Martin's work on the game.
In one of the locations in "Elden Ring," players will find Fia in a small bedroom. She will ask the protagonist to lie with her on the bed. Players can accept or decline, but note that what Fia is asking is just for her and the protagonist to embrace while lying on the bed. Doing so will reward players with a special consumable item that will buff their Baldachin's Blessing poise.
According to the information currently posted on Fextralife, players can revisit Fia to get her cuddles and poise buffs. With her included in the game's opening, players start to wonder if she has a bigger role in the game's lore. Fans will have to wait to find out as "Elden Ring" releases on Friday, Feb. 25.
