Elegant, a Belgium-based green energy provider, has started accepting bitcoin as a payment method following the rise in requests from various clients. It has collaborated with BitPay to facilitate this service.
"We have been innovative in our product offering and customer contact. With this in mind, accepting bitcoins is not so strange - we are happy to be the first mover in Belgium", said Maarten De Cuyper, CEO at Elegant.
With their monthly electricity or gas invoice, the users registered for bitcoin payments will now receive a BitPay link. He said that although the new offering had not yet been made known to the public, Elegant had already registered two bitcoin payments.
