‘Elementary’ season 5 episode 10, titled “Pick Your Poison,” is set to follow Joan as she faces serious trouble with the DEA for illegal drug prescriptions. She is also implicated in a murder case.
The synopsis for “Pick Your Poison” posted on TV Guide reads, “Watson (Lucy Liu) is implicated in a DEA investigation into doctors writing illegal prescriptions. She and Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) then search for the person who is using her medical license to sell drugs.”
It is ironic that Joan would be implicated in a drug scheme considering she is Holmes’ sober companion. It seems that the incoming episode will put her in a tight bind as she attempts to reclaim her innocence by looking for the real perpetrator behind the illegal prescriptions made under her medical license.
They may have to race against time to get Joan out of the sticky situation or else she may have to face serious consequences or perhaps some jail time she does not deserve. It would be interesting to see how the real criminal is connected to Joan and how they managed to get their hands on her medical license.
According to Cartermatt, the perpetrator may be someone she would have known at some point in her life or at some point in her career but it is also possible that the criminal may also be a total stranger taking advantage of her.
The promo for episode 10 opens with Joan at a pharmacy trying to convince the woman at the counter that she truly is Dr. Joan Watson. She pulls out an identification card from Stuyvesant Memorial as well as her New York State medical license.
It seems that someone has stolen Joan’s identity and is using her license to write illegal prescriptions. Holmes says in the next scene, “She’s stolen credentials of four doctors including Watson’s.” By the end of the promo, it is revealed that Joan is implicated in a murder as she is warned that the DEA is after her.
‘Elementary’ season 5 episode 10, titled “Pick Your Poison,” is scheduled to air on CBS on December 18, 2016. It was directed by Jeremy Webb and written by Bob Goodman.
