“Elite” season 3 has been renewed, and the good news is, they are also finished with filming the new installment. This means that fans are likely to see the drama in a few months from now.
“Elite” season 3’s renewal was announced in August, and it was director Diego Avalos who delivered the good news. Now, along with the series creators Darío Madrona and Carlos Montero, they said that this season would be bigger and better than the first two installments.
"I don't know how much more money the series cost this season, but I have the sense the series achieved a leap in quality,” Oprah Mag quoted Montero as saying during the press conference. “Also, I made the series I wanted to, and that's a rare sensation.”
What will happen next in season 3?
“Elite” season 3 will likely delve more on Marina’s killing. In season 2, the students have to deal with the unpleasant aftermath of her death. The incident led to broken friendships, relationships, and tore families apart. This is because some were forced to lie to protect someone while others want justice to prevail, so there were betrayals as well due to their want to reveal the truth even if it means turning their backs on their friends.
Also, Polo was already revealed as the real killer, and because of his conscience, he was forced to confess his crime to Ander. Ander wants Polo to tell Guzman that he is the culprit and if he will not do it, he will. He also asked Polo to use his trust fund to bail out Nano, who was wrongly accused of the killing, and after he was released from jail, he decided to leave Las Encinas for fear of being pinned down again.
“Elite” season 3 will show Samuel and Guzman doing their best to hold Polo accountable for killing Marina. Furthermore, it was revealed that there would be a graduation after Dana Paola posted a clip on her Instagram story last month. But then, it seems not everyone will make it to the stage or some events will happen again around that time.
New faces and returning cast members
“Elite” season 3 will feature new cast additions that include Sergio Momo and Leiti Sene. Those who will be back for the third chapter are Samuel (Itzan Escamilla), Lu (Danna Paola), Omar (Omar Ayuso), Polo (Álvaro Rico), Carla (Ester Expósito), Ander (Arón Piper), Nano (Jaime Lorente Lopez), Christian (Miguel Herrán), Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) and Nadia (Mina El Hammani). Finally, Netflix has not posted any release date for “Elite” season 3 yet, but Ester Expósito (Carla) shared that their drama will return on 2020.
