An archived copy of Elon Musk’s Election Day appeal showed nearly 12 million views before the post disappeared from X by Nov. 4, as the Associated Press projected Democrats would control both chambers of Congress.
Musk’s X account posted “Vote red today!” on Nov. 3. The Washington Post reported the post went up shortly after 9:30 a.m. ET that day and had disappeared from the account by Nov. 4.
Snopes listed Musk and people managing his account as possible parties behind the removal, but did not establish who acted or what prompted it.
The Associated Press’ election chronology places its Senate projection at 11:36 p.m. ET Nov. 3 and its House projection at 1:24 a.m. ET Nov. 4; Democrats were projected to control both.
Before Election Day, former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared Musk’s hypothetical Supreme Court warning and added her own appeal for followers to vote.
