Enugu Air plans to add a Lagos–London Gatwick service in December 2026, expanding the state-owned Nigerian carrier’s international network.

The airline said it has approval for the route and selected Omni-Blu Aviation (OBA) to operate it through a strategic partnership. Enugu Air says bookings are open. Its announcement gave no exact first-flight date or official weekly timetable.

Aviation Metric reported that the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issued permit FOP-2026-106430-001 on Nov. 4, authorizing four weekly flights from Dec. 1 through March 27, 2027. The outlet also reported that the service would use aircraft CS-TGD, wet-leased from EuroAtlantic Airways Transportes Aéreos, S.A. The CAA’s public list of Article 250 permits showed entries through Oct. 31 when reviewed, before the date of the reported permit.

The CAA says foreign carriers need a permit before operating commercial services to, from or within the United Kingdom. Aviation Metric’s report is the only supplied source for the permit number, schedule and aircraft details.

Enugu State Government said Enugu Air began its first international service, from Enugu to Douala, Cameroon, on Sept. 23, 2026. The state said the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority granted the airline an Air Operator Certificate in March. It has described the carrier as part of its effort to develop Enugu as a regional aviation and commerce hub.

The announced London route is from Lagos. Enugu Air has named December 2026 as the launch month but has not specified an exact date or flight schedule in its announcement.
