Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged broader trade, investment, energy and defense-industry ties with Kyrgyzstan on Friday, saying stronger solidarity between Ankara and Bishkek could benefit both countries, especially at the United Nations, Anadolu Agency reported.
Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications said Erdogan and President Sadyr Japarov met at the Presidential Complex in Ankara on the sidelines of the Organization of Turkic States’ (OTS) 13th summit. EconoTimes had previously reported the Oct. 30 summit schedule.
Erdogan said he expected the OTS to take significant steps in the period ahead, Anadolu reported. The leaders also discussed bilateral ties and regional and global issues, the agency said.
Erdogan invited Japarov to the COP31 Leaders’ Summit, scheduled for Antalya in November, Anadolu reported. Separately, he offered his best wishes ahead of Kyrgyzstan’s presidential election, scheduled for Jan. 27, 2027, the agency said.
