Today Euro Group finance ministers are scheduled to meet in Luxembourg today to discuss the situation on several Euro area economies. Major focus will be on Greece.
Today's meeting is the last in line before bailout agreement between Greece and European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) expires on June 30th.
- Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis is scheduled to attend the meeting. Greek finance minister is not bringing any new proposals today, on the table to discuss further. However Eurozone creditors might present a proposal today or have some technical talks before a deal could be reached.
- Though much is not expected from today's meeting, however body language of the several participants such as German finance minister Mr. Schäuble, Group chair Dijsselbloem, French finance minister Mr. Sapin and Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis should be closely watched for further cues.
Euro group finance ministers will hold discussion beyond Greece.
- Finance ministers will discuss, second review of post program surveillance carried out in Portugal.
- Finance ministers will also discuss the findings of 6th review of ongoing economic adjustment program.
These two review may not be as vital as Greece in current context, but of immense importance to assess how other bailed out countries are performing.
Press conference of the meeting is scheduled at 18:00 CET, however it is subject to change depending on the length of discussion.
Euro is currently trading at 1.138 against dollar, will be eyeing the updates from the meeting.
