FXStreet reported Thursday that United Overseas Bank (UOB) strategists kept a one-to-three-week downside view for the U.S. dollar against the Swiss franc, with 0.8200 in view and the strong-resistance level lowered to 0.8275.
FXStreet’s account put the bank’s 24-hour USD/CHF projection at 0.8225–0.8260. The report said the downside view remained in place while the pair stayed below 0.8275, down from the previous strong-resistance level of 0.8290.
The pair traded between 0.8234 and 0.8263 in the prior session and closed at 0.8244, down 0.02%, FXStreet reported. The outlet said the session’s price movement gave the strategists no fresh clues.
FXStreet also recounted earlier UOB updates: an Oct. 16 assessment cited a spot rate of 0.8280 and a possible move toward 0.8225 if the dollar closed below 0.8245. After the pair reached a reported low of 0.8215, an Oct. 19 update at 0.8240 kept 0.8200 in view, according to FXStreet. EconoTimes previously covered UOB’s dollar-franc outlook.
USD/CHF states how many Swiss francs one U.S. dollar buys. The Swiss National Bank’s exchange-rate series labels the measure “1 USD in CHF.” At 0.8200, a dollar would buy fewer francs than at a higher rate, indicating a stronger franc against the dollar.
