FXStreet reported that UOB saw a possible move toward 0.8320 if USD/CHF closed a day above 0.8290 and stayed above 0.8230.
FXStreet said UOB analysts Quek Ser Leang and Lee Sue Ann viewed the pair as overbought after a sharp rise over the previous two days. They still saw room for USD/CHF to test 0.8290 in the 24-hour outlook, but considered a sustained advance beyond that level unlikely. The report put near-term support at 0.8250.
For their one-to-three-week view, the analysts said upward momentum was building. A daily close above 0.8290 could put 0.8320 in view, FXStreet reported, provided the pair stayed above 0.8230, which they described as strong support. Those figures are conditional technical levels, not confirmed outcomes. Taken together, the report described a cautious 24-hour view alongside improving momentum over one to three weeks. The 0.8250 level applied to the 24-hour view; 0.8230 was the support condition for the longer window.
This outlook came a day after UOB moved its position from negative to neutral on Oct. 26. FXStreet's report from that day said the bank expected USD/CHF to trade between 0.8200 and 0.8290 over one to three weeks, with the pair at 0.8250. The updated view put 0.8290 at both the top of the earlier range and a trigger for a possible move toward 0.8320. EconoTimes previously covered UOB's dollar-franc technical outlook, including an FXStreet-reported reduction in the bank's strong-resistance level to 0.8275.
USD/CHF indicates how many Swiss francs one U.S. dollar buys, so a higher reading means the dollar buys more francs. The report focused on exchange-rate levels and did not identify a fundamental catalyst for UOB's view.
The Federal Reserve's calendar listed its two-day policy meeting for Oct. 27-28. FXStreet did not link the scheduled meeting to the currency outlook.
