‘Fifty Shades Darker’ has officially wrapped production in Paris. Latest photographs from the filming set were released featuring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson locked in passionate kisses.
According to the Daily Mail, new photographs were released from the Paris filming set showing Dornan and Johnson in a steamy scene on a balcony during the final day of filming on July 19. The co-stars locked lips and entangled themselves in a steamy embrace for all to see on a balcony overlooking the famous Eiffel Tower.
E.L. James, author of the original trilogy of novels the films are based on, took to Twitter early the following day to officially announce the end of principal photography. She posted, “Fifty Shades is wrapped. Thanks to all the fans who came to support us.”
Cast and crew were spotted filming in various locations in France. Dornan and Johnson were previously in the south of France to film a honeymoon scene on a beach in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat in Nice. The two showed off toned bodies as they stripped down to their swimwear. Photographs posted on E! News featured Dornan in a pair of blue trunks and his on-screen love Johnson in a tiny yellow string bikini.
Production then moved from Nice to Paris. Other photographs showed Dornan and Johnson in various locations around the city including the iconic Palais Garnier Opera House. Production was temporarily halted following the recent Bastille Day attacks.
Back-to-back production for ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ and ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ wrapped in Vancouver just last week but cast and crew had to film extra scenes for ‘Freed’ in Paris.
Dornan and Johnson are returning to the sequel as lead characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Christian Grey is a successful businessman with dark secrets and Ana is his lover who engages in BDSM with.
Reception for the preceding film ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ was largely negative. Dornan and Johnson’s performances as the lead protagonists were slammed for their poor performance and the two were criticized for their lack of chemistry.
Despite the poor reception, the first film broke box office numbers. According to Box Office Mojo, it earned $571 million worldwide against a production budget of $40 million.
‘Fifty Shades Darker’ is an upcoming erotic-drama film based on the book of the same name penned by E.L. James. It is directed by James Foley and written for the big screen by Niall Leonard. It is scheduled to be released on February 10, 2017.
