The official preview of “Fire Force” season 2 episode 18 suggests it will be a more relaxed one as it animates the manga story arc focused on Sister Iris. After everything Company 8 has learned about the Evangelist, she begins to ask herself if she should keep believing and praying to the Sun God.
‘Fire Force’ season 2 episode 18 spoilers, official preview
“Fire Force” season 2 episode 18 should begin with Shinra volunteering to go with Sister Iris for the baptism of their extinguishing equipment. While offering her prayers, Iris begins to ask herself if there is any good in keeping her faith now knowing there is a chance the Holy Sol Temple was created by the Evangelist.
The video teaser also confirms the appearance of Lieutenant Huo Yan Li in “Fire Force” season 2 episode 18. In the manga, Huo Yan finds Shinra waiting outside the church and they discuss the same thing that has been bothering Sister Iris. Huo Yan comments it is nice to see Company 8 still practicing baptisms despite the speculations on the Evangelist’s connection with the Holy Sol Temple. He adds that even the likes of Karim are already doubting the church.
However, Huo Yan should also make a good point about their faith in “Fire Force” season 2 episode 18. In the manga, he explained to Shinra that their church does not worship the Evangelist and that as long as the Sun exists, he promises to keep the faith.
While still on the topic of keeping the faith, Shinra and Iris encounter one of the church’s reverends turning into an Infernal. Their tandem will quickly deal with it, but it will only make things harder for Iris. Meanwhile, it appears that the entire Iris arc could be covered in “Fire Force” season 2 episode 18 as the preview shows Shinra and Iris talking in front of a garden of sunflowers, a flower that always faces the sun. This is the same scene in the manga where Shinra shares his conversation with Huo Yan and says Iris is Company 8’s sunflower who is always facing the sun and helping them to keep fighting.
