Meizu, a China-based smartphone manufacturer, on Monday released a stable version of its Flyme 5.0 OS for its recently launched MX5. It is available as an OTA download, but will require about 940MB for download and even more for unpacking and installation GSMArena reported.
A Meizu fan page lists the new changes that the new update will bring. The Flyme 5.0.1.1A supports split screen mode, multitasking, floating notice, automatic renaming and much more. Users will also be able to pull down the notification bar to view more details. Music locker would allow users choose if they want to view notifications during lock screen or not.
NDTV Gadgets reports that the firmware brings a new search function, new volume category management, enhanced network setting options, better power management option, default application settings and others. Along with a new 'Toolbox' app that has been introduced in the new OS, a new browser home design, new toolbar at the bottom of the browser are also included.
Music lovers will now have access to comprehensive music library, a new offline radio function and WLAN environment to automatically update the music library offline. Artist Collection makes it easy for the users to find their favourite artists.
Camera section has also received major improvements – new GIF shooting mode, Time Watermark, voice Camera and much more. Users can now manually increase saturation, contrast and white balance adjustment option.
Moreover, improvements to Weather, Calendar, Notes, Clock, App Store, Mail, Game Centre also feature inside the update.
