Anthropic IPO Marketing Expected to Start in Mid-October

Anthropic IPO Marketing Expected to Start in Mid-October.

Anthropic is expected to begin marketing its initial public offering in mid-October at the earliest, as the artificial intelligence company adjusts the timeline for what could become one of the largest IPOs in history.

The AI startup could complete its public listing just days before the U.S. midterm elections in November, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the preparations. Anthropic had previously been expected to release its IPO prospectus as early as next week, a critical step toward formally launching the offering.

The company now plans to publish its prospectus in late September, according to the report. However, the Anthropic IPO timeline remains subject to change as preparations continue.

The revised schedule delays a potential listing that some investors believe could value Anthropic at as much as $2 trillion. At that level, the offering would rank among the biggest stock market debuts ever and serve as a major test of investor demand for companies benefiting from the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence.

Anthropic is also working to finalize a $15 billion revolving credit facility as part of its IPO preparations. Analysts, including representatives from banks involved in the financing, are expected to meet with company executives after the credit facility is completed.

Companies preparing to go public typically allow several weeks between analyst meetings and the publication of an IPO prospectus. Anthropic may be able to move more quickly because analysts participating in the process are already familiar with its business.

Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup are among the major Wall Street banks working with Anthropic on the planned stock market listing.

The potential Anthropic IPO comes as investors increasingly seek public-market exposure to leading AI companies. OpenAI is also considering a possible listing, while SpaceX completed a record $1.77 trillion public-market debut in June.

Anthropic declined to comment on its IPO plans, and the final timing and terms of the offering could still change.
