Finally, it is confirmed that “Food Wars” season 4 will be released in 2019 just before it becomes a full year since the third season concluded. Now, fans know they only have to wait a few more months to see if the so-called Rebels will crush the Central composed of the most elite chefs in the Totsuki Culinary Academy.
Fans were surprised on Monday when the official announcement of “Food Wars” season 4 came through the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. The publication released the official visual art for the anime series that fittingly features both Soma Yukihira and Erina Nakiri.

The third season ended with the Totsuki Culinary Academy in complete chaos because of Erina’s father, Azami Nakiri, who undermined the institution’s leadership and manipulated the Elite Ten Council into making him the current head of Totsuki. “Food Wars” season 4 will pick up from the beginning of the Régiment de Cuisine that will decide the future of Totsuki.
When Azami took over, Totsuki’s atmosphere and curriculum drastically changed that led to even more unjustified expulsion of students who still deserved to stay in the academy. Of course, the only way to resolve this is by winning against the Elite Ten Council in a series of shokugeki or food wars. The second round of the Rebels vs. Central Régiment de Cuisine is where “Food Wars” season 4 will start based on the events in the original manga series.
The wager is very high for the Rebels that is composed of Soma, Erina, Megumi Tadokoro, Takumi Aldini, Satoshi Isshiki, Subaru Mimasaka, Terunori Kuga, and Tosuke Megishima. If they lose in “Food Wars” season 4, they all of them except Erina would be expelled from Totsuki. Meanwhile, Erina and Soma’s father, Joichiro Yukihira, will be forced to join the Central and be under the control of Azami.
On the other hand, if the Rebels win, they will become the next Elite Ten Council and all students expelled during the Promotions Exam arc will be reinstated in the academy. Specific release date of “Food Wars” season 4 is yet to be announced, but the anime series will certainly return in October.
