ETMarkets reported that a StockEdge screen identified five Indian shares that closed above their 200-day moving averages on Oct. 22, with conflicting Concord Biotech prices leaving one result unresolved.
ETMarkets said the screen covered NSE-listed companies with market capitalizations above ₹10,000 crore and attributed it to StockEdge. It gave these Oct. 22 price and average pairs: International Gemological Institute, ₹353.20 and ₹336.82; Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, ₹61.99 and ₹61.06; Asahi India Glass, ₹913.55 and ₹904.25; Bharti Airtel, ₹1,895 and ₹1,893.56; and Concord Biotech, ₹1,270.70 and ₹1,269.73.
Upstox, PL Capital, TrackLivePrice and EODData list the same Oct. 22 prices as ETMarkets for the first four shares, respectively. Concord is disputed: ProfitGuruOnline lists ₹1,270.70, while StockAnalysis, citing S&P Global Market Intelligence, lists ₹1,258.50. The first price is above the average in ETMarkets' report; the second is below it.
StockEdge describes a move from below to above its 200-day simple moving average as a bullish scan. The average offers a longer-horizon view of a share's price trend, while Strota says stocks can move above and below it repeatedly.
A separate Strota screen taken before the Oct. 22 market close also placed International Gemological Institute, Asahi India Glass, Bharti Airtel and Concord Biotech above its averages. Its readings differed from ETMarkets' figures, and it did not include Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, so it does not confirm the reported closing signal. StockEdge's FAQ says its curated scan results refresh after the trading session ends.
EconoTimes previously covered a separate screen of eight Indian stocks below their reported 200-day averages at the Oct. 19 close, when the Nifty 50 fell 1.11%.
