Fox Television Stations LLC and Amazon Inc. have come together for content and local news distribution. They are teaming up to disseminate the news content of TV stations owned and operated by the Fox Broadcasting Company across all Amazon devices.
The deal between Fox Television Stations and Amazon is said to be effective immediately, so people will already see the station’s content on Amazon’s line of devices. As part of the agreement, Fox Television Stations (FTS) will furnish 17 free, ad-supported television (FAST) channels, and these will be available in Amazon News app on Fire TV and Alexa on Echo Show gadgets. The local content is accessible to owners 24/7.
The partnership between Fox TV Stations and Amazon actually started in March 2022, and initially, Fox’s LiveNOW and Fox Soul FAST channels were distributed on Amazon. In December of last year, they added five TV stations owned by Fox and WTXF Philadelphia, WJBK Detroit, KMSP Minneapolis, KTVU San Francisco, and KSAZ Phoenix were launched on Amazon’s products.
Later, the companies added twelve more local news channels, and these are WNYW New York, KTTV Los Angeles, WFLD Chicago, KDFW Dallas, WAGA Atlanta, KRIV Houston, WTTG Washington, KCPQ Seattle, WTVT Tampa Bay, WOFL Orlando, KTBC Austin, and WITI Milwaukee. These are now accessible via Amazon’s Fire TV and Echo Show.
"This important collaboration with Amazon further solidifies our commitment to bring FTS's powerhouse local news content to as many people as possible," FOX Television Station’s senior vice president, Jeff Zellmer, said in a press release. "We know that choice and accessibility matter to our viewers and this launch is another key step in our overall strategy and goal of giving our viewers the live and on-demand content from the stations they love."
