France’s industrial production is expected to have slowed slightly in September after rebounding in August. According to a Societe Generale research note, the industrial production is likely to have dropped 0.4 percent in sequential terms. For the fourth quarter as a whole, the country’s industrial production is expected to come in healthy following a dull July figure.
This is expected to be mainly due to poor energy output that dragged down the third quarter figure. Business surveys indeed imply a better momentum of industrial production going into the December quarter In October, the manufacturing PMI had reached 51.8, the highest reading since March 2014, noted Societe Generale.
