To slow down the spread of the coronavirus, the World Health Organization (WHO) wants people to stay at home and play video games while practicing social distancing. For those who own a Steam account, there are two cool games that will be made available for free on the platform this month.
‘Total War: Shogun 2’
“Total War: Shogun 2” is a highly-rated strategy game on Steam with a rating of 9/10 on the platform, according to Pgreppublic.com. The title was developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega and will be free to grab from April 27 until May 1.
“Total War: Shogun 2” is set in 16th century Japan where various warlords compete to control the entire country after the collapse of its government. Players will start as a Daimyo who will compete with other warlords and plot his way to become the ruler of the nation.
To conquer Japan, one must amass wealth, power, and influence. They can then wield economic, political and military power by building vast samurai armies and fleets of giant warships to battle against their rivals.
Friends can play the main campaign in a two-player mode. There are also online battles that allow up to 8 players.
“Total War: Shogun 2” requires Win XP 32 or higher the PC’s operating system. The minimum requirement for the processor is that it must be Intel Pentium 4 2.66GHz or AMD Sempron 2600+.
Meanwhile, an AMD Radeon X1300 256MB or NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GS graphics card is required and it must be DirectX 9 compatible. The PC must have at least 1 GB of RAM with a free hard disk space of at least 20 GB.
‘Assassins Creed 2’
Another free game from Steam is the “Assassins Creed 2,” which will be available for free starting April 14, according to Game-Debate. The action-adventure game is the second major installment of the highly popular Assassins Creed series.
The game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released in November 2003 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It was later released for PC the following year.
