Netflix ordered “Fuller House” season 5, but it is also going to be its final installment. And with only limited episodes left, there is a possibility that fans will only see one member of the she-wolf pack tie the knot.
One of the possible storylines in “Fuller House” season 5 is the wedding preparations of Jimmy (Adam Hagenbuch) and Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin). However, it would also be anticlimactic to end the series with a very obvious plot. Also, Jimmy and Stephanie are not the only couples who deserve to get a marriage arc in the farewell season.
Viewers have also witnessed the relationship of D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure) and Steve (Scott Weinger) develop in the previous seasons. From their will they-won't they set up, D.J. and Scott finally faced the music and admitted how much they want to be together in season 4. To see them tie the knot in “Fuller House” season 5 will also not be that surprising.
Then there is the Kimmy (Andrea Barber) and Fernando (Juan Pablo Di Pace) duo that, in so many ways, is a perfect pairing. Fans may agree that Fernando's character went through a significant development when Kimmy was pregnant as a surrogate of Stephanie and Jimmy. It would also be quite a great ending in “Fuller House” season 5 to see these two get married.
Having a triple wedding to close the curtain in “Fuller House” season 5 does not sound bad. However, a few episodes might not be enough to accommodate the plot needed to build up that major ending.
Also, Cameron Bure might have previously hinted that the writers could be eyeing to have just one couple tying the knot in “Fuller House” season 5. Speaking with ET at a TCA 2019 Winter Press Tour event, the actress said, “I think there's gonna be some wedding bells! I think probably wedding bells -- who knows for which couple, but we have plenty to choose from."
For fans who are hoping to see a triple wedding, there might still be hope. At the same event, Sweetin revealed they “haven't heard really any storyline ideas yet” for “Fuller House” season 5.
Filming dates for “Fuller House” season 5 are still unknown. However, Netflix promised to release the farewell season in fall.
