FxWirePro: GBP/USD gains some ground but bulls lack punch

• GBP/USD edged higher on Friday as progress in U.S.-Iran diplomatic talks in New York improved market sentiment

• Oil prices eased after two sessions of gains as investors balanced hopes for a U.S.-Iran truce against growing supply risks from escalating Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia...

• Global government bond yields eased slightly on Friday after rising sharply earlier in the week. The UK benchmark 10-year gilt yield edged down to 5.3810%, following a climb to a more than one-week high earlier this week.

• A survey showed British consumer confidence unexpectedly rose to a more than two-year high this month, driven by improving optimism over household finances and adding to recent signs of resilience in the UK economy.

•Meanwhile, Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey said that persistently high ​energy prices would ​make it harder ⁠for the central bank to leave interest rates on hold, underlining a recent shift in tone towards higher borrowing costs..

•   Immediate resistance is located at 1.3297(38.2%fib), any close above will push the pair towards 1.3402(50%fib)

•  Strong support is seen at 1.3209(38.2%fib) and break below could take the pair towards 1.3157(23.6%fib).

  Recommendation: Good to sell  around 1.3290, with stop loss of 1.3350 and target price of 1.3230
