Lots of economic data and events scheduled for today, and some with high volatility risks associated.

Data released so far:

  • China: CPI inflation declined by 0.2 percent in April, up 1.8 percent from a year ago. PPI inflation up 3.4 percent y/y in April.  

Upcoming:

  • Japan: Eco watchers’ survey report will be released at 5:00 GMT.
     
  • Italy: March industrial production report will be released at 8:00 GMT.
     
  • United Kingdom: manufacturing and industrial production report will be released at 8:30 GMT, along with trade balance report. Bank of England (BoE) will announce monetary policy decision at 11:00 GMT, followed by Governor’s speech at 11:30 GMT.
     
  • United States: Weekly jobless claims report will be released at 12:30 GMT, along with CPI inflation report. EIA will release the weekly natural gas report. The monthly budget report will be released for the month of April at 18:00 GMT.
     
  • New Zealand: April business PMI report will be released at 22:30 GMT. Food price inflation report will be released at 22:45 GMT.
     
  • Canada: New house price report will be released at 12:30 GMT.
