Lots of data and events scheduled for today, and some with high volatility risks associated.

Data released so far:

  • China: Fixed asset investment growth slows to 5.3 percent y/y in August. Industrial production up 6.1 percent y/y in August. Retail sales growth 9 percent y/y.
     
  • Japan: industrial production growth at 2.2 percent y/y in July.

Upcoming:

  • Italy: CPI inflation report will be released at 8:00 GMT.
     
  • Eurozone: July trade balance report will be released at 9:00 GMT. Q2 labor cost report will be released at 10:00 GMT.
     
  • United Kingdom: Bank of England (BoE) governor Carney is set for a speech at 10:00 GMT.
     
  • United States: Retail sales report will be released at 12:30 GMT, along with terms of trade report for August. Fed’s Evans is set for a speech at 13:00 GMT. Michigan consumer sentiment report will be released at 14:00 GMT.
     
  • Canada: BoC will release business review report at 14:00 GMT.
