The Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System (GDACS) rated Sunday's magnitude 6.0 Vanuatu earthquake green, estimating about 2,000 people were in an MMI IV area and assessing potential humanitarian impact as low.

The event record puts the quake at 11:47 UTC on Nov. 1, or 6:47 a.m. ET, and lists a depth of 10 kilometers. GDACS says its assessment considers the quake's magnitude, the affected population and their vulnerability.

A media headline from GFZ displayed on the GDACS page gave a magnitude of 6.1, while the event record lists 6.0.

Another magnitude 6.0 earthquake received a green GDACS rating on Oct. 27, as EconoTimes reported at the time.
