News about “GTA 6” is scarce at the moment as Rockstar Games remains reticent about everything that has to do with the next installment. So far, all fans have on their hands are rumors and speculations with some of them ranging from believable to downright outrageous.
Perhaps one of the biggest rumor out there is regarding the developers’ progress of “GTA 6.” According to The Know, the next title is currently under development under the codename “Project Americas.” Apparently, the title is an allusion to the location that’s going to be included in “GTA 6.” To be precise, the next installment will be allowing players to travel outside the United States and complete missions in an undisclosed area south of the country’s border. Simply think of “Narcos: Mexico” and “American Made.”
Another rumor that is still being discussed today is how expansive the map will be. There are whispers going around the web claiming that the map of “GTA 6” will include the entirety of the United States, which would be insane if the studio pulls it off. Of course, given how much work that’s going to take, it’s safe to say that this one will remain nothing more than a rumor.
However, there’s also the reputation of Rockstar Games to consider, especially since “Red Dead Redemption 2” ushered in a new era of map proportions. Through the years, the studio has been touted as among the few that revolutionizes the RPG niche and if anyone can make such a map, then it would be the developers of Rockstar Games. But perhaps one of the most outrageous yet interesting rumors that spawned recently is the supposed inclusion of Eva Mendez and Ryan Gosling in “GTA 6.”
The actress has been involved in the narrative since “GTA 6” will apparently have a female protagonist in its ensemble. On the other hand, “The Notebook” star has been included due to the comments of co-writer Dan Houser.
The comment in question is Houser’s remarks regarding the movie “Drive,” a hit action film starring Ryan Gosling where he plays a stunt double by day and a getaway driver for criminals at night. “It was impossible to imagine that film without having played ‘GTA,’” Houser said. Right now, it isn’t clear whether both the abovementioned stars will indeed be hired in the creation of GTA 6. As for the release date of the next installment, it’s speculated that it will drop sometime between 2020 and 2022.
