‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 dropped its first teaser that hinted at a Stark children reunion in Winterfell. Meanwhile, actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson admitted that it was possible for his character The Mountain to battle his own brother The Hound in the new season.
According to Time.com, a new teaser for season 7 of ‘Game of Thrones’ was reportedly aired before an episode of ‘Westworld’ last November 27. The short video hinted at a grand Stark reunion in Winterfell between Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), and their bastard brother Jon Snow (Kit Harington).
Although the video is yet to appear online, fans took various photographs of the teaser and uploaded them on social media sites. It seems that the first teaser put more emphasis on the sons and daughters of Ned and Catelyn Stark.
In the teaser stills, the three Stark children looked to be on different locations in the cold North. One image showed Sansa in the Godswood and another showed Jon in his full winter garb, looking worried as he talked to a yet unknown character. However, it was the image of Arya dressed in full Northern attire and on horseback that drew the most attention.
It was previously speculated that Arya has traveled all the way home to finish off the remaining targets on her kill list. Although she is set to reunite with her long-lost siblings, she and Sansa are bound to clash once more.
Arya and Sansa may not be the only case of extreme sibling rivalry in the incoming season. It was heavily speculated that Gregor Clegane a.k.a. The Mountain will take on his own younger brother Sandor Clegane a.k.a. The Hound (Rory McCann) in an epic battle in season 7.
According to Express, actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson admitted that the looming battle between brothers is certainly a possibility. The 28-year old Icelandic professional strongman and actor said, “Everyone is expecting me and my brother to fight in this season. I don’t know if that’s going to happen or not.”
He continued, “They don’t tell us that in the show but that’s definitely [something] I could see happening in the future because it looks like it would go that way because if you look at the story, it looks like that.”
Björnsson took on the role of the terrifying knight since the role was recast in 2014. The Mountain was previously portrayed by Conan Stevens and Ian Whyte.
‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 is scheduled to premiere sometime in mid-2017.
