NEW YORK, Jan. 07, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Varonis Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:VRNS), the leading provider of software solutions for unstructured, human-generated enterprise data, has been identified as a sample vendor by Gartner in its newly published Market Guide for Data-Centric Audit and Protection (DCAP).
In describing the market drivers for data-centric audit and protection, the Gartner Market Guide authors wrote: “Organizations have experienced an increasing wave of publicized data breaches caused by external hacking, internal malpractice and human error resulting in significant financial liabilities, brand damage and loss of customers.” The report was authored by Gartner analysts Brian Lowans, Brian Reed and Marc-Antoine Meunier and published December 15, 2015.
In characterizing the size and growth of the market opportunity for DCAP vendors, Gartner stated, “The DCAP market is in the early stages of development, and only a few of the vendors selected are beginning to address all, or a few, of the silos. Gartner estimates the total market grew rapidly in 2014 at more than 40% but from a large base that already greatly exceeded $1 billion in 2014. This is likely to have continued through 2015 and even at an increased growth rate.”
David Gibson, Vice President of Strategy and Market Development at Varonis, said, "We believe Gartner's analysis of data-centric security governance is consistent with how Varonis and our customers have been rising to the challenges presented in today’s digital world. Perimeter protections can only take you so far. Access to and use of unstructured, human-generated data such as emails, word documents and other files created and shared by employees must be monitored and protected. Varonis ensures an organization's valuable and sensitive files are protected, while enabling employees to find and access the data they need from anywhere."
Gartner is a leading independent provider of IT advisory and market intelligence and research services worldwide.
