Life & Style magazine caused a bit of a stir when they claimed that Amal Clooney dumped George Clooney on their fourth anniversary last month, but once again, Gossip Cop is here to debunk this rumor. According to the fact-checking website, sources close to George have confirmed that the couple’s relationship is fine.
Life & Style had claimed that George Clooney and Amal Clooney’s relationship was on the rocks as a source allegedly told them the couple was getting a divorce after they failed to spend their fourth wedding anniversary together. The magazine even claimed that Amal wanted half his fortune and was just using him the whole time. Well, there’s a perfectly good reason why they were not together on Sept. 27.
“Actually, the facts, which the tabloid seems to gloss over, are that the renowned lawyer needed to be across the country in New York on the morning of September 28 since, as widely reported, Amal made a plea at the UN General Assembly for the release of two jailed reporters in Myanmar,” the team at Gossip Cop noted in their report.
“George did not get ‘dumped’ on their fourth anniversary. The only ones who should get dumped are the sources that the magazine has repeatedly relied on for its slew of untrue cover stories.”
Well, tabloid magazines have always been known to publish sensationalized stories without an ounce of truth. It’s to cause a ruckus so people will buy their product. Unfortunately, this also turns off readers who can easily discern truth from fiction.
In any case, George Clooney and Amal Clooney’s relationship has never been better in the past few months. In fact, George even introduced himself as “Amal Clooney’s husband” at Variety’s annual Power of Women event in Los Angeles this Friday. He sure doesn’t sound like a man who has been dumped by his wife recently.
