George Clooney and Amal Clooney have been one of the most followed A-list couples, especially after they tied the knot five years ago. They will be celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary on Friday that could explain why tabloid rumors have shifted from divorce reports to them having a renewal of vows ceremony.

George and Amal had a star-studded wedding in Venice, Italy in 2014. Many of their friends, including some very recognizable Hollywood names and faces, were there to witness their exchange of vows. But a report recently claimed that they want to have a second wedding ceremony coinciding their fifth anniversary.
The report, published by Heat tabloid (via Gossip Cop), claimed that George and Amal missed some of their closest friends at their destination wedding in 2014 including Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. To make up for it, the actor and human rights lawyer are reportedly having the renewal of vows event in Los Angeles. Aside from Aniston and Pitt, the couple is purportedly inviting Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock as well.
This particular report is still a breath of fresh air compared to the relentless divorce rumors published about George and Amal through the years. But Gossip Cop still dismissed it as nothing but “fiction” after reaching out to a source close to the Clooneys. The fact-checking celeb news outlet also noted that Heat had previously released stories about the couple that did not pan out including the time when it claimed the Clooneys were looking to adopt a child.

Like every Hollywood couple, George and Amal were not spared from outrageous divorce rumors. Just earlier this year, Radar Online claimed that the couple was headed for divorce with $520 million of assets involved. It was later denied by the actor’s rep.
PEOPLE also recently reported on George and Amal’s upcoming wedding anniversary but did not mention anything about a renewal of vows ceremony. Instead, its source shared how the couple’s marriage has greatly revolved around their 2-year-old twins Alexander and Ella.
