Tabloids can run as much divorce rumors as they want about George Clooney and Amal Clooney, but these will all go away easily as soon as the power couple is seen together at a public event. And that was what happened this week when the Hollywood star joined the human rights lawyer at a gala in New York City.
George Clooney, Amal Clooney subtly dismiss divorce rumors
Most Hollywood stars pay no mind to the relentless rumors insinuating they are constantly having problems in their relationship. Amal became a regular face in the tabloids since she started dating George. When they got married, divorce rumors and marital issues became the new allegations surrounding their relationship. But, not surprisingly, none of it ever panned out.
Months after being rumored as having issues in their marriage, George and Amal stepped out together in New York on Tuesday night after the human right lawyer received recognition at an event organized by the American Society Of International Law. The couple was photographed outside the venue in The Frick Collection.
This is Amal and George’s first public appearance after celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary on Sept. 27. PEOPLE reports that they went out to dinner with their close friends Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford, where a witness saw the Clooneys in the “best mood” and had a fun dinner that lasted for several hours.
Did George Clooney and Amal Clooney hold a renewal of vows ceremony?
Weeks leading to Amal and George’s fifth wedding anniversary, rumors claimed that they had a bigger celebration in mind. The couple was reported planning a renewal of vows ceremony in Los Angeles, California, to be attended by some of their closest Hollywood friends.
The rumor came from a source of National Enquirer (via Gossip Cop) who said it was George’s idea so he could show Amal how he remains intent on spending the rest of his life with her. The same insider claimed that the guest list includes the names of Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, and Julia Roberts, among others.
It was further claimed that George and Amal wanted their 2-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, to be part of the so-called second wedding. However, given the more reliable report from PEOPLE, it appears that the renewal of vows ceremony did not happen.
