The human rights lawyer allegedly looked so distraught that bystanders thought she was “dumped” by her husband that night. The publication further insisted that Amal looked like she was crying at one of the photos taken that evening.

New Idea also published statements from supposed eyewitnesses that seemingly suggest George did not have the best energy on their anniversary. The gossip site said the actor only responded with a “weary-sounding laugh” when asked about the toughest aspect of marriage. In the latter parts of the report, the outlet referred to a rumor last year from another tabloid, Life & Style, where it was claimed that George was feeling “trapped” and reportedly described his relationship with Amal as a “bad marriage.”

New Idea correctly said that the Clooneys went out on a simple dinner date at the 4 Charles Prime Rib restaurant in New York City with close friends Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber.

However, Amal was not “dumped,” and a photo shared by Entertainment Tonight shows that Amal was beautifully smiling to the swarm of paparazzi while holding hands with George. A source also told PEOPLE that the Clooneys were in the “best mood” during dinner that was a treat by Kaia Gerber’s father. “It was a happy group,” the eyewitness added.
