Gen Z regelt is carrying its protest campaign into November, asking supporters in Germany to organize local actions and join a youth strike after advertising Oct. 31 demonstrations in 34 cities.
The initiative’s Oct. 31 Instagram post described the planned demonstrations as a first step and urged supporters to stage local actions from Nov. 2-6, then participate in a youth strike on Nov. 20. In its Telegram channel, Gen Z regelt says the campaign centers on education, pressure from rising costs and opposition to compulsory military service. The group also says local teams arrange registration and legal organization for demonstrations in their cities.
Gen Z regelt’s Telegram channel linked to its website, which listed Oct. 31 demonstrations in 34 German cities at 2 p.m. CET, or 9 a.m. ET (13:00 UTC). EconoTimes previously covered the initiative’s earlier call for demonstrations in 21 German cities. The list documents the group’s advertised schedule; it does not establish that demonstrations took place in all 34 locations.
Tagesschau reported that the group’s website also listed a nationwide protest for Nov. 14. The site’s verification gate prevented a direct look at that listing, leaving its locations and format unconfirmed.
Organizers had earlier set an expectation of at least 182,000 participants, Tagesschau reported. The broadcaster later cited a spokesperson’s estimate of more than 100,000 shortly before 3 p.m. ET (19:00 UTC) on Oct. 31, while figures from six to eight cities were still missing. Neither number is a confirmed nationwide count: one was an earlier expectation and the other an incomplete estimate.
Frankfurt police separately reported property damage, theft and serious physical attacks on officers after an Oct. 31 assembly in central Frankfurt. The notice did not identify those responsible or connect the incidents to Gen Z regelt.
